When you think of sport in Edmonton, you think the Oilers and hockey or the Eskimos and football, however there is one team worth checking out that is trying to break through the glass city and make this a 3 sport city. FC Edmonton was founded in 2010 and competes in the North American Soccer League.
Soccer is the most played sport in the city, however many people still don’t realize that Edmonton has their very own professional team. Nicknamed the Eddies, FC Edmonton had an incredibly successful year on the pitch, recording a franchise record 10 game home unbeaten streak at Clarke Stadium. The Eddies made the post-season for the first time this season and played in the NASL Semi-Finals on November 5th against the Indy Eleven and the club hosted a first-class event at Churchill Square, with many activities for kids, food trucks, prizes and a beer garden which housed the passionate FC Edmonton Supporters Group.
The Edmonton Supporters Group has a strong membership that continues to grow, and they are passionate about bringing an authentic atmosphere to each FC Edmonton match. You’ll see them in the Supporters Section stand behind the goal at Clarke Stadium, constantly banging drums, singing, chanting and having a great time. The best part is ANYONE CAN JOIN! The group wants to grow and welcomes all fans into their section with open arms, and if you’re comfortable, join in with the chanting! The group meets at the Pint Downtown before every match to get the party started, then taking the Supporters Bus to Clarke Stadium and back to The Pint afterwards. Best Part is, you can get a ticket, beer and ride to the game for only $20.00!
If you want to check it out but are a little nervous about the Supporters Section have no fear, the best part about an FC Edmonton game is it is the most family friendly sports team in the city. The most expensive tickets for Centre-Field reserve tickets are only $35.00, and FC Edmonton had many promotional games this past season with tickets as low as $20.00 including a pop and hot dog. Want a burger and drink at the game? Good news, it’s not $275 like at the Oilers games, food and drink are very reasonably priced at Eddies games.
2017 Season Tickets are on sale now for a great price!! Ranging from $200+GST in the Supporters Section to $550+GST for Reserved Mid-Field Sideline tickets. The Club has a great promotion on right now as well, with a minimum $50.00 deposit, not only do you get your season tickets for 18 matches but you also get a 2016 Collectors Team Photo, a Bonus ticket to the Amway Cup Match, 2017 Playoff Ticket, Front of the line access to additional seats including post-season matches and an Authentic 2017 FC Edmonton Third Jersey (Value for all the additions is over $125).
