Tacos, tortas and quesadillas, oh my!!!!
Take a journey to Mexico without bringing your passport when you visit Tres Carnales in Edmonton. Here, you’ll find authentic Mexican street fare served up fresh and fantastically in a hip little setting, you’re sure to love.
There’s not a lot of space inside so you’ll likely find yourself vying for a table, but the seats are worth it. The menu doesn’t take up much space either, focusing on a few key and very fresh ingredients to turn out the offerings here. You’ll find tacos, tortas, and quesadillas in a variety of styles. Try the Pescado, featuring fried fresh Pacific Red Snapper. Or the Carne Deshebrada, beef short ribs that are slowly braised with Morita chiles and tomatoes. There are also a couple vegetarian options too. Be sure to check out the daily specials as well and you may just find your new favourite.
You’ll find typical but necessary sides like house-made guacamole or salsa served with chips. And if you need something refreshing, there are a few Cerveza (beer) choices including Mexican staple, Corona, as well as Lupita by local brewery Alley Cat.
The fiesta is always rolling at Tres Carnales. The atmosphere gives off a bit of a noisy din, but it only adds to the ambience. Not the place for an intimate date night, but surely a good for meeting the friends for tacos and beer.
If you’re looking for nachos or burritos, you’re not going to find them here. The concept at Tres Carnales is very simple: to bring the people of Edmonton truly authentic Mexican food. It’s a solid concept that works rather well, and if the constant flow of diners is any indication, it’s a sure bet that you’ll enjoy eating here.
